Activities Counselor

THE W!LD

Activities Counselors will live in a cabin with a group of campers, where they have the opportunity to build intentional relationships with each camper to help them experience and know the love of Jesus. They are responsible for leading group discussions, facilitating aquatics activities, providing a safe environment for their campers and modeling a personal relationship with Jesus.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Live in the cabin with campers during their stay  
  • Provide spiritual guidance and leadership for campers 
  • Lead curriculum teaching times, and share the Gospel with campers 
  • Facilitate aerial challenge course, zipline, swimmer safety at all water related activities, target sports, field games and crafts with campers’ grades completed K-5th 
  • Participate in all activities with campers, including water sports, target sports, general recreation activities and more

  • Facilitate aerial challenge courses, zip line, and other adventure and aquatics activities with campers grades K-5th
  • Facilitate general recreation activities, including but not limited to target sports, field games, and crafts
  • Safely instruct all activities
  • Assist the program team in the nightly program events

The Admin Lead provides an excellent guest experience on opening and closing days throughout the summer. In addition, it will support the camp director with various administrative responsibilities and oversight of the camp snack shack and store.

  • Work with the Camp Director to meet the varied needs of church leaders and parents
  • Organize and run the check in or guests on opening and closing day
  • Assist with scheduling and managing of Summer Staff time off requests

The Adventure Rec Specialist helps provide campers with a safe and fun environment, through facilitation of activities. Responsible for helping create a space where they can take one-step close to Jesus, by trying new activities and facing their fears.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Facilitate challenge course, zipline, and other adventure activities with guests of all ages
  • Facilitate general recreation activities such as target sports, disc golf, field games, etc.
  • Fill in as needed in other activity areas when ropes activities are not active
  • Safely instruct all adventure elements

Aquatics Coordinator

The Aquatics Coordinator helps provide a safe and exciting environment for campers to have a memorable time, while experiencing something new at aquatics activities. You will provide supervision to the aquatic’s specialists and aquatics facilities, as well as have the opportunities to engage campers as they take one step closer to Jesus.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee the daily aquatics operations
  • Support and lead the Aquatics Specialists, and other staff while they are working aquatics activities
  • Ensure the safety of all participants on all aquatics activities

The Arts Coordinator helps to provide a unique experience where campers get to explore their creativity and express themselves through new activities. The coordinator will also implement and coordinate arts activities for campers who want to participate in any and all arts activities.

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of the art room
  • Provide instruction in arts activities for campers
  • Responsible for stewarding and maintaining all art equipment

Boat Driver

Boat Drivers create a memorable experience for campers to laugh, challenge themselves and enjoy God’s creation, while facilitating a fun and safe environment for campers to enjoy being on the water, experiencing nature and tubing.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for the safety of all staff and guests on and around boating and cable park activities
  • Help facilitate campers’ experiences in wakeboarding, zup boarding, and recreational tubing
  • Maintain cleanliness of boats, vehicles, equipment, docking, and cable park areas
  • Facilitate and lifeguard water activities with guests of all ages
  • Facilitate adventure and general recreation activities when waterfront activities are not active

Camp Crew

Health Aide

Health Aides have the unique role of caring for campers physically and sometimes emotionally while at camp. Health Aides dispense medications, assess injuries and provide medical care, all while being supervised and coached by a licensed medical professional.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist in the intake and screening of campers upon arrival
  • Assist in the Camp Health Office alongside nurses and other camp Health Aides
  • Covers the Camp Health Office during the camp nurse’s time off or when a camper is isolated overnight
  • Assist in the documentation of camper and staff visits, including signs and symptoms, and any treatment given/ recommended

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team
  • Work with the Camp Director to meet the varied needs of groups, showing hospitality to group leaders and guests
  • Provide leadership for summer staff, assist with scheduling and overall communication of expectations for staff
  • Help build and lead a healthy culture for summer staff, including providing a discipline or conflict resolution
  • Oversee “turnovers,” i.e., cleaning and preparation of facilities between groups

  • Provide spiritual guidance and leadership for campers
  • Lead curriculum teaching times, and share the Gospel with campers

Oversee the implementation of Creekside day trips to Lake Livingston, where campers participate in boat rides, swimming and tubing.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Facilitate all activities that take place at Lake Livingston (boating, tubing, games, etc.)
  • Supervise lifeguards and boat drivers while at Lake Livingston
  • Ensure the safety of all staff and guests while at the Lake Livingston property
  • Help facilitate campers’ experiences at Lake Livingston on land or while wakeboarding and tubing

Photographer

Photographers at Carolina Creek capture the daily life of campers and staff through the lens. Working with various equipment, photographers shoot, edit and publish photos on a daily basis for parents to see their campers experiencing camp. Photographers also work on specific shot lists and projects to equip Carolina Creek to have strong imagery to use for marketing and social projects.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Capture daily camper activities through photo
  • Edit photos daily using Adobe Lightroom
  • Upload Media content online to archives and galleries
  • Assist in producing promotional media content

Production Specialists serve as the lead technician for programs and events at Carolina Creek. This position facilities programs through the support of audio, video and lighting resources in keynote services, chapels and general AVL needs across their camp center.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide production support for services with lighting, video, and audio
  • Mic audio for live bands and stage performances with multiple cast members at a time
  • Program and execute lighting cues for worship, dramas, and standard service elements
  • Create and execute session flows with lyrics, video elements and speaker slides in presentation software

The Program Lead has the unique opportunity to help campers experience and know the love of Jesus Christ through coordinating theatrical productions and worship experiences.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for organizing the worship sessions (speakers, musicians, dramas, etc.)
  • Help in overseeing and facilitating daily dramas
  • Contribute to the overall quality of the camper’s experience
  • Organize and oversee the art program, while supporting and supervising the Arts Coordinator

Retail Specialist

The Retail Specialist is responsible for helping to maintain and run retail stores in order to create the opportunity for guests to enjoy a positive experience in the camp stores, which will be another memorable experience that may help lead them one step closer to Jesus.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Support summer staff in properly using Point Of Sale stations, ensuring proper cash handling procedures, End of Day routines, exchanges, returns, etc.
  • Ensure stores are organized and clean by maintaining a cleaning schedule and a make-ready routine
  • Maintain active inventory of the floor as well as inventory at each location
  • Transfer and monitor inventory from location to location as needed throughout the summer

Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve Guest Groups and occasionally live-in with campers during their stay
  • Facilitate aerial challenge course and other adventure activities with guests of all ages
  • Facilitate swimmer safety at all water related activities, and perform water rescues if necessary
  • Facilitate general recreation, including but not limited to target sports, field games and crafts
  • Occasionally lead or participate in devotionals, and share the Gospel with campers, depending on group needs

Videographers also work on specific shot lists and projects to equip Carolina Creek to have strong video assets to use for marketing and social projects.

  • Capture daily camper activities through photo
  • Edit video daily using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Upload Media content online to archives and galleries
  • Assist in producing promotional media content
