Lone Star Lights Event Team

Department: Creative Services

The Lone Star Lights Event Team members will work various positions to include but not limited to wait staff,
adventure and activities, cleaning, snow zone, retail, parking attendant, etc. to create a positive, memorable
experience for Lone Star Lights guests.

This position begins on November 14th and runs through December 22 with the option to stay as long as
January 13th.

Compensation of $60 per day plus lodging and meals available the day of your shift.

Key Job Accountabilities
  • Prep and set up all themed areas
  • Supervise the designated areas
  • Responsible to uphold all procedures and protocol for the area
  • Maintain safety in your designated area
  • Engage with guests and support guest relations
  • Assist in park cleanliness throughout your shift
  • Attend all required staff meetings, trainings, and events
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the broader camp programs of CCCC
  • Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words, and actions

Outdoor Science Principal

Department: Creation Care

Do you love implementing camp program and seeing kids experience wonder and awe in nature? Join our Outdoor Science Team! Do you enjoy facilitating the details of camp and seeing how your work directly impacts student’s lives? Are you interested in leading others in teaching and being outdoors? Our relationship based, nature oriented Outdoor Science Program exposes students to the wonder of nature through hands-on science lessons, adventure experiences, and team building. The Outdoor Science team is a group of Jesus loving outdoor enthusiasts that set aside several months to live in community and join us in our mission.

Position Objective:

The Outdoor Science Principal assumes responsibility for overseeing staff, students, and teachers while implementing the daily details of the Outdoor Science Program and facilities. You will also assists in regular program duties, including team-building and adventure activities, as well as additional guest group support responsibilities when outdoor science is not in session (additional support duties with facilities, housekeeping, food service, and adventure recreation. He/she will be responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship in a manner consistent with Carolina Creek’s mission, vision, and values.

Outdoor Science Principal will have the option to live in an intentional, Christ centered community with other staff in shared housing. Staff are invited to join a community built on authentic and hospitable relationships.

Training January 5–17: Program: Jan 18 – April 25th

Weekly compensation with housing and meals (Starting at $325)

Wed-Fri Principal duties, Fri-Sunday/M-T Additional camp duties

Paid staff training

Spiritual formation

Deep and lasting friendships

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in any field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • CPR First Aid Certified
  • Ability to be Lifeguard certified

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience working with and teaching students
  • Experience coordinating camp programs
  • Supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to lead peers, school teachers, and students
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and problem solve
  • Familiar with risk management in an outdoor setting
  • Ability to relate to a variety of age groups and effectively communicate to teachers, school principals, peers, and students.
  • Familiar with Google Suite
  • Ability to work with a team with good judgment and decision making abilities.
  • Must exhibit great interpersonal skills with people of all ages.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.
  • Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.

Outdoor Science Health Aide

Our relationship based, nature oriented Outdoor Science Program exposes students to the wonder of nature through hands-on science lessons, adventure experiences, and team building. The Outdoor Science team is a group of Jesus loving outdoor enthusiasts that set aside several months to live in community and join us in our mission.

Position Objective:

The Health Aide is responsible to assist, report to and support the Healthcare Supervisor with all health needs of Outdoor Science participants and staff, as well as facilitate adventure activities and administrative support of daily duties when camp is in session in a manner consistent with Carolina Creek’s mission, vision and values.

Outdoor Science Health Aide will have the option to live in an intentional, Christ centered community with other staff in shared housing. Staff are invited to join a community built on authentic and hospitable relationships.

  • Experience with managing risk in an outdoor setting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work with a team with good judgment and decision making abilities.
  • Must exhibit and demonstrate empathy and interpersonal skills with people of all ages.
  • Detail oriented with record keeping and charting skills.
  • Must be observant and attentive.
  • Mature understanding and respect for authority and peers, as well as camp guidelines and principles.

Outdoor Science Naturalist

Do you love seeing kids experience wonder and awe in nature? Join our Outdoor Science Team! Do you enjoy working with 5th grade public school students and impacting their lives? Are you interested in teaching and being outdoors? Our relationship based, nature oriented Outdoor Science Program exposes students to the wonder of nature through hands-on science lessons, adventure experiences, and team building. The Naturalist team is a group of Jesus loving outdoor enthusiasts that set aside several months to live in community and join us in our mission.

Naturalists live in an intentional, Christ centered community with one another in shared housing. Staff are invited to join a community built on authentic and hospitable relationships.

Naturalists receive excellent training in curriculum development and experiential education. Ongoing support from the administrative team as well as veteran staff members ensure that staff are “poured into” and supported.

Position Objective:

The Outdoor Science School Naturalist/Specialist assumes responsibility for a trail group and teaching
science content for 5th grade during scheduled class times, assists in regular program duties, including
team-building and adventure activities, and leads extended activities when outdoor science is in session as
well as additional guest group support responsibilities when outdoor science is not in session. He/she will be
responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship in a manner consistent with Carolina
Creek’s mission, vision, and values.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in any field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • CPR First Aid Certified (or willing to become certified)
  • Lifeguard Certification (or willing to become certified)

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in leading and facilitating activities.
  • Previous experience with working elementary-aged children.

  • Ability to relate to a variety of age groups and effectively manage a student group.
  • Ability to provide leadership skills and emotional and spiritual maturity.
  • Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture and through
    nature.
  • Passionate about science and the outdoors.
  • Ability to teach in a calm, clear and engaging manner with all ages.
  • Mature understanding of camp guidelines and principles and respect for authority and peers.
