Develop Spiritually, Personally & Professionally.

Carolina Creek Internship

The Carolina Creek Internship is designed to help young adults develop as leaders spiritually, personally and professionally. Carolina Creek is currently seeking young adults who are excited about developing under some of the best leaders in camp ministry and working in a team environment that encourages personal and professional growth.

The Internship for You!

You might have found this internship and thought we’d tell you all about who we are, but that’s not what a Carolina Creek Internship is. We’re all about investing in you. The person who doesn’t let others look down on you just because you’re young. The person who’s got talent, passion and motivation to spare. The person who can’t wait to spend the best years of your life doing the best work of your life, learning and developing alongside some of the best leaders around. The person who is eager to serve their team, coworkers and strangers alike because serving blesses the giver, just as much–if not more–than the receiver. A Carolina Creek Internship isn’t for just anyone—and that’s why we think it might be perfect for you.

Program Objectives

The Internship Program at Carolina Creek is designed to walk with young adult participants as they grow and mature spiritually, professionally and in community with one another.  Interns will have the opportunity to develop in, as well as receive training with regards to…

  • Identity In Christ
  • Spiritual Formation
  • Discipleship
  • Communal Living
  • Leadership (Biblical, Professional & Social)
  • Ministry Career Skills

This is not a gap-year program but is intended to provide work experience for post-graduates who desire to explore ministry careers related to Christian camping, hospitality, children’s or youth ministry, culinary fields, marketing or creative media ministries. Supervisors construct an individualized curriculum for each Participant that will help them accomplish their own professional goals.

REQUIREMENTS
The Intern Program Participant at Carolina Creek must be a follower of Jesus Christ, still maturing and looking to grow in developing their faith. They must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek’s mission statement, statement of beliefs, and community guidelines. They must be committed to be an active member of the intern community, participating in all assignments directed by the Intern Coordinator.

All Participants are required to commit to the entire twelve-month program. Summer assignments will be determined in collaboration with each Intern as their professional skills and objectives are discovered throughout the year.

Expectations for particular departmental assignments are listed in the job description for each.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
Participants in the Intern Program serve on our ministry team, as needed, whenever guests are present. This includes most, but not all weekends throughout the year, as well as some midweek groups. Direct ministry assignments will vary depending upon the giftings and abilities of each individual, but all participants should expect to be deployed as needed to accomplish our mission.

  • Facilitate Carolina Creek adventure/recreation, aquatics, and target sports in a safe manner for all guests.
  • Lead a small group of campers in Bible Studies, activities, and other program elements for midweek and weekend programs.
  • Assist the Kitchen Staff in the serving and cleaning of meals for all guest groups.
  • Assist the Guest Services team in the cleaning of dining halls, common areas, and cabins.
  • Assist the Grounds Team in beautifying and maintaining our grounds.
  • Participate in meetings and complete assignments received by Intern Director.

Each intern will be assigned to a specific team at Carolina Creek. They will be able to apply the leadership principles they are learning from the Intern program in the daily work at Carolina Creek. This department will be secondary to the primary responsibility of leading the program and guest groups experience.

Plenty of Ways to Get Plugged In

Creation Care

Outdoor Science

We are passionate about helping people experience & know the love of Jesus in new and unique ways. Within the Outdoor Science School program that means modeling the love of Jesus without our Christian language. It means being “little Christs” as you tell the
parables of science and nature that open the windows of creation so that students can see God in the wonders and workings of nature
while developing character, having adventures, learning science curriculum, and practicing stewardship.
